Sometimes you just have to give yourself a gift and pamper yourself (that includes men, too but does not include motor oil all over your hands, you know who you are!). My favorite way of doing that is to visit a hot springs location and turn into a prune from sitting in the warm water for a couple of hours. I know to some of you that sounds like a terrible idea, but don’t knock it if you haven’t tried it!
Where else can you immerse yourself in water with stuff in it you’d never dream of putting on yourself at home but with a likeminded bunch of people seems perfectly normal? Or, even better, smearing mud all over you to remove the toxins? Come on, when was the last time you played in the mud – it’s time and you can claim it’s for medicinal purposes if you feel you have to. Me, I just like playing in the mud!
Tips for your mudbath, er, hot springs soak:
- It’s meant to relax you so make sure you don’t take along your personal arsenal of technology.
- It feels great and turns you into a pain free puddle of relaxed muscles, which was the whole point in the first place.
- If you don’t have access to a natural hot springs (you have my sympathy) take a warm 20 minute bath with Epsom Salts and lock the door. (If I have to explain the door part, you don’t need to lock it) But, plan a trip very soon.
- Last tip is very important – drink a ton of water for 24 hours after your soak.
Here’s to feeling better the natural way and you can’t get more natural than water and mud!
